ACCESSIBLE BY DESIGN
Capability Should Be Challenging.
Access Should Not Be.
Crucifer is committed to making its public website, learning information and digital experiences usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities. Our design and development target for the public website is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What We Aim to Support
- Keyboard navigation.
- Visible keyboard focus.
- Sufficient colour contrast.
- Meaningful headings and page structure.
- Descriptive links.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Scalable text and responsive reflow.
- Labelled form fields.
- Understandable validation and error messages.
- Controls that do not rely only on colour.
- Captions and transcripts for relevant prerecorded educational video.
- Reduced-motion preferences.
- Clear language wherever technical precision allows it.
Video and Open Learning
Crucifer Open Learning is intended to provide captions and transcripts subject to language and production availability. Where visual information is important to understanding educational content, we will work progressively toward appropriate accessible alternatives.
Academy Assessments and Learning
Accessibility does not mean reducing the capability standard being assessed. Where reasonably possible and appropriate, the Academy will provide accommodations that remove an unnecessary access barrier while preserving the essential learning or competency requirement. Candidates and learners should use the approved accommodation process rather than attempting to resolve assessment accessibility informally with an instructor or partner.
Third-Party Technology
Some website or learning experiences may depend on third-party systems. We select and configure providers with accessibility in mind, but some limitations may exist outside Crucifer's direct control. Where a material barrier is identified, we will assess an appropriate alternative or remediation route where reasonably possible.
Tell Us About an Accessibility Problem
If you cannot access information, complete a website process or use a feature because of an accessibility barrier, tell us:
Approved Knowledge and Generated Media
- The page or feature involved.
- The barrier experienced.
- The device, browser or assistive technology being used where relevant.
- The format or alternative that would help.
